A few days ago I finally installed a 32GB AMD R9700 GPU, for AI coding and other projects.
Today the Minimax H3 video generation model came out, so I decided to check it out using ComfyUI for the first time.
Getting ComfyUI running on AMD is still not ideal, but there are good instructions here: https://comfyui-amd.github.io/.
I ran their sample template and prompt and generated a 5s clip, and it took under 9 minutes.
I then tweaked the prompt and changed the urban post-futuristic action scene into a romantic jungle scene (with pterodactyls). That took under 7 minutes.
Simply incredible what can be done. This is all with reasonably priced hardware - my GPU was released a year ago and my CPU is from 2020.
